Welkom op de site van E.S.W.Z.V. Nayade. De club is ontstaan uit het Eindhovens Studenten Corps, maar de binding met dit corps is iets dat tot een ver verleden behoort. Het is op 24 mei 1961 begonnen met de “Eindhovense Studenten Zwemvereniging Nayade”. Later is de naam veranderd in “E.S.W.V. Nayade”, omdat er op dat moment alleen gewaterpolo’d werd bij Nayade. Sinds 1994 is het “E.S.W.Z.V. Nayade” omdat we weer een actieve zwemtak hebben.
The swimming branch currently consists of about 100 members. These are approximately equally divided between the technique group and the competition group. Anyone who wants to learn to swim competitively can join the technique group. Members who have been competitive swimming for some time now swim in the competition group. Swimmers of all levels are therefore represented, from absolute beginner to Dutch Champion.
The water polo section currently consists of four teams, 2 men's and 2 women's teams, and approximately 15 guest members who only train at Nayade. Men's 1 plays in the 3rd league division, and men's 2 in the 2nd district. For the women, women's 1 competes in the 1st district, and women's 2 in the 3rd district. Matches are primarily played on weekends, usually on Saturday afternoons or evenings. In addition, the teams regularly participate in (inter)national tournaments and NSWK's.
Naast de sport is voor Nayadianen ontspanning erg belangrijk. Daarom heeft Nayade een heel aantal commissies die jaarlijks activiteiten organiseren zoals een bierproef, pubquiz en clubkampioenschappen. Een centrale plaats voor veel Nayade-activiteiten is het Nayadehuis, waar 11 actieve leden van de vereniging wonen. Ieder jaar organiseren zij een spetterend huisfeest met elke keer weer een ander verrassend thema.
